The English department offers students what they need to read, write, speak, and listen effectively. Our Science department offers several independent study courses in advanced biology and zoology. We also offer several Advanced Placement (AP) courses. In addition, the Math Team affords students the opportunity to compete regularly at math meets. Our students can investigate introductory courses in Psychology, Sociology, and Current Events that often assists them in preparing for college-level courses. We also offer several duel enrollment courses with colleges that count towards college degrees.
This community has supported, and continues to support, its schools and activities. The schools have a rich history in Millinocket and school pride is evident all around. All year round most residents can be found at a Stearns' sporting event supporting our students. Not to be outdone, the Performing Arts Department offers outstanding theater productions, choral and band concerts on all grade levels. Our state-of-the-art auditorium is the envy of many schools in the state. Stearns High School is the center of our community, and boasts of a large, well maintained campus.
