DAYS ADDED TO THE END OF THE SCHOOL CALENDAR:

Snow Days and other cancellations:

************************************************************************************************************
The Millinocket School Department will consider storm days this year to be virtual learning days. If school is cancelled, the regular schedule will be followed for a full day of virtual instruction for all students. A Friday cancellation will remain a half day of virtual instruction.

TO:                  Parents/Guardians of Students in the Millinocket School Department
FROM:            Francis N. Boynton, Superintendent of Schools
DATE:            October 20, 2020
SUBJECT:      WINTER WEATHER CANCELLATION & DELAY NOTICES

There may be times during the winter months when roads will be too dangerous to transport students.  For the school year 2020-2021, we will hold virtual learning on days of inclement weather. Announcements will generally be made between 5:30 & 6:00 AM on the radio and TV stations listed below.  We will also make every effort to post it on our Facebook page and website home page at www.millinocketschools.org.

Lunch will provided on those days at all 3 designated sites.

I want to emphasize that these decisions are made very early in the morning based on the best available weather information at the time.  Conditions can change dramatically in a short period of time.  The ultimate decision on whether to transport a child to school or allow the child to be transported by school bus on a severe storm day rests with the parents.  Please establish a plan that your child will know how to follow should any of these situations occur this winter.

If school goes virtual due to inclement weather, there will be no practices or any other use of the school facilities allowed, even if the weather clears later in the day.  This also includes Recreation Department activities such as Little Pro Basketball.

No school, delays and midday dismissals and virtual learning days will be announced on the following radio and TV stations:
