Mr. Raymond and Mr. Robbins visited the 4th graders to talk about their experiences in the Air Force. Students gave the guests letters they had written, and were able to looked at pictures the guests shared from their time in the service. The students enjoyed conversations about different facts about various countries. They also learned that Veteran’s Day used to be called Armistice Day, it is on November 11th because it was the end of World War 1, and that fighter jets can refuel in the air.

Granite Street is collecting nonperishable foods that will be donate to the Stearns' Food Pantry. Students can bring in items to put in their classroom box. This food drive will end on November 25th.

Winter walking at Stearns High School

Congratulations to our Honor Roll Students for Quarter 1!

Buses will depart from Granite Street for our field trip to watch “Lost on a Mountain in Maine” between 8:00-8:15 am on Friday. 4th & 5th Grade students will go directly to their classrooms on Friday instead of going out to morning recess. We will eat breakfast as soon as students arrive in order to ensure we are ready to depart as close to 8am as possible.
If your student is a walker or car rider in the morning, please plan for them to arrive as close to 7:30 AM as possible to ensure they have time to eat breakfast and prepare to leave for our field trip. Please note that students will not be allowed to eat breakfast brought from home on the bus.
Thank you for all of the amazing support in making this field trip possible for our 4th & 5th grade students!

Please read the attached updates!

Please remember that students should be at Granite Street School by 7:45. They are considered tardy after that time.

Attached are ways of connecting with the Millinocket School Department!

On October 25, 2024, teachers and educational technicians from Millinocket, East Millinocket, and Medway all met together for a regional training by Jan Neureuther. Coffee was served, raffles were given, and staff were able to have professional development on the Science of Behavior. Staff came away from the workshop with an understanding the importance of adult and student regulation; strategies for building connections and positive relationships with students and colleagues; ways of identifying common barriers to coping and regulation; and a basic understanding of The Acting-Out Cycle.
Thank you,
Jan Neureuther M.S.Ed., Katahdin Area Special Services Director
