It is that time of year again where the Athletic Boosters are in NEED of volunteers for football concessions. Please remember that boosters is run strictly by volunteers to help support the needs of sports programs at Stearns. This is a great way to help out! If you are interested in signing up for a slot, please either email Katie Carr at kcarr@millinocketschools.org or send her a message through Facebook. Thank you in advance for all of our local volunteers. We couldn't do it without you!

We want to thank the Millinocket Church of the Nazarene for choosing to redecorate the lobby at Granite Street as one of their local community service projects. The fresh paint and kid friendly decorations make it a welcoming space.

Kyle Leathers, a history teacher at Stearns High School, recently returned from a trip to the Netherlands to be part of the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day. His great uncle, Edmond Levesque, was killed in the Netherlands during World War II and is buried in the Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery in The Netherlands. Kyle wrote an article that was published in the June 26th edition of the Katahdin Region News.

Ms. Thibodeau worked on a special project with fifth graders the last week of school. Each student searched for an image and painted smooth river rocks, which are on display by the main entrance of Granite. The students will leave behind a little piece of themselves, as they finish their years at Granite Street School and move on to sixth grade at Stearns.
