It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Caydan, a 9th grade student at Stearns High School. Caydan's death is a profound loss to our school community, and our thoughts are with their family and friends during this difficult time. We understand that this news may be distressing, and we want to assure you that support services are available for students and staff. Students can reach out to the school counselors or administration during April vacation. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd at Bowers Funeral Home in Lincoln, Maine. We encourage students and staff to attend to honor Caydan and support their family. If any of our student body would like to attend Caydan’s celebration of life, but is in need of transportation, please contact Mr. Nick Cullen at ncullen@millinocketschools.org by Monday, April 21st. Bragdon's bus service has donated a bus for the Millinocket School Department to transport anyone in need.

It is with heavy hearts that we inform the public that Stearns High School has felt the loss of one of our students. When a community experiences a tragic loss like this, people can have many different feelings and emotions. Today, we will have staff members available to support students during this difficult time. They will be there to listen, support and talk with anyone who would like to come by. We are providing a safe place to gather together and remember. At times like this, it is normal to have many different feelings, including sadness, anger, and disbelief. It is okay to cry. Together we can talk about whatever you may be feeling or you may want to come share your favorite stories.
Our entire school community sends our deepest sympathies and condolences to the family and friends of our student.
