PK classes has had great success with our “Hearts Across America” valentines from the 50 states. Thanks to everyone who has participated. We are still in need of Valentine’s from these states: Delaware, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, South Carolina, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming. We appreciate your help.
Granite Street Pre-K
Mrs. Waite's first grade class and Mrs. Michaud's second grade class had perfect attendance last Wednesday, January 28th on our early release day.
Next week, February 9th-13th, Granite Street will be having a fun filled spirit week.
Please remember school vacation week is February 16th-20th.
Virtual Day Meal Kits were sent home with Stearn's students yesterday. Granite students will bring them home today. These meal kits should be keep on hand in case we have an virtual day. They are shelf stable, so there is no need to refrigerate them.
If your student did not receive a meal and you would like them to, please return the virtual day meal request form. It's available on our school website in the documents section and at each school office.

Due to the inclement weather headed our way through this evening and Monday, Millinocket School Department will have no school on Monday, January 26th. Stay safe and warm!
Today we had a successful lockdown drill at Granite Street School. Please read the attached letter.
Next Wednesday, January 28, 2026, we will be having an early release day. Students will be dismissed from Stearns at 11:15 and Granite Street School starting at 11:25. Granite Street will be having a rock and roll theme day.
We are in the winter season with very cold temperatures! Please make sure your child(ren) brings the appropriate clothing for outdoor recess. The office looks at both the actual and feel like temperatures, wind, precipitation, playground conditions (ice, water, mud), and other factors. each day to determine if we will have indoor or outdoor recess both in the morning and mid day. We appreciate your cooperation.
Job Posting
Studio One is now having classes at Granite Street School the rest of this school year. Sandy Hartley will be providing parents with details. Lessons will be in the conference room and gymnasium which are both located off the main lobby. Parents can drop off and pick up students at the main door and lobby.
Parents and Guardians,
If you have a second or third graders taking lessons on Tuesdays and/or on Wednesdays, you can send in a note for them to stay after school. Sandy and her staff will be with them from the end of the school day until the start of the lessons. Please call the office or Sandy if you have any questions.

Our school nutrition department will be sending home a Remote/Virtual Day Meal Request Form tomorrow. If you would like your student to receive a shelf-stable meal for use during a future remote/virtual day, please return the form no later than Tuesday 01/20/25.

Millinocket School Deparment has canceled school today Wednesday, January 7th in order to keep people out of harms way of the sleet and rain during the start of travel time. Region III is canceled as well. Stay safe and warm!
Millinocket School Department will have a 2 hour delay today, Wednesday January 7th due to the potential of sleet and recheck to see where or if we get sleet and ice. Region III will have a delay as well.
